Once you reach 9th Farming Base in Clash of Clans, it becomes important to defend even the smallest of your resources in order to make progress more quickly and efficiently. Most of the time, except for threats and enemy attacks, a well-planned designing of a farming base prevents the loss of Gold, Elixir, more so dark elixir, to enemies, as you fortify your defenses and build up more troops. When it comes to effective TH9 farming bases, the most important point is how the storages are designed and how well they are protected from attacks. Each resource will have storage units in different compartments so the attackers will not be able to go with all the loot in one raid.
The Dark Elixir resource is usually kept at the central part of the base and better protected under high range, high damage dealing infrastructures like the X-Bow, Archer, and Wizard Towers. Enhancing the troop count can also augment defensive systems by strategically placing offensive traps like the Giant Bomb and the Seeking Air Mine in likely troop funneling areas. Also, widely spaced and distributed Air Defenses act to ward off enemies who may prefer any aerial onslaught and provide cover to the enemy placed outside High guard placed Teslas in order to surprise the enemy.
The layout of the farming base is made in such a way that the Town Hall has to be placed outside the periphery of the base and hence the attackers would go in for the easy star resulting in no damage to your storages.
